Volunteer Information

We appreciate all volunteers and sometimes our volunteers have great ideas as to what they would specifically like to contribute to the organization. However, we do have some ongoing responsibilities and are always looking for interested individuals (like you :)) to assist in the below roles:

Board Members (executive)- The CDSA board is a great place to volunteer if you are looking to make an impact in the organization! We seek members who are reliable, organized, enthusiastic and who demonstrate leadership skills. We have a variety of roles and invite any interested parties to attend a board meeting to see what is a good fit for them.

Technical Director- This senior leadership position is responsible for the club's technical investment in its player base, with a particular emphasis on youth player development.

Coaches- Coaches are vital to the success of soccer in Camrose! Our coaches teach our players soccer skills and are great mentors on and off the field. Coaches must enjoy working with children, be committed to attending practices and games and be willing to enhance their coaching skills on an ongoing basis.

Assistant Coaches- Assistant coaches are coaches too! They are out there with the children and assisting with practices and games. Often two coaches work together so that there is more interaction with the children, more opportunity to teach new skills and so that someone can observe while the other one takes the lead (to monitor players).

Team Manager- The role of team manager is to assist the coaches with some of the administrative and organizational duties. This varies depending on the age of the team and the coaches needs. This can include things such as contacting parents, providing parent updates, organizing snack schedules, contacting out of town teams, organizing players cards and submitting rosters.

Age Coordinators- The role of the age coordinator is to ensure that coaches are in place (for example, the U6 coordinator would ensure that coaches are in place for all U6 teams). The age coordinator also sends rosters to the coaches and communicates information to the coaches.

Registration Night Assistants- We hold in person registration nights in September and March. On these nights we need individuals to help parents set up their registration on the computer and provide receipts for payments.

Night Classic Volunteers- Each year, in the middle of June, CDSA hosts an Under the Lights tournament. This is a full weekend tournament that runs into the evening. This tournament takes a great deal of coordination and many volunteers. Roles include things such as working in the registration tent, organizing camping, organizing referees, 50/50 collectors, set up and take down, etc. When you volunteer for this tournament you have the opportunity to chose a role that is of interest to you and you can ask more questions of the Night Classic volunteer coordinator.

Tournament Volunteers- We have tournaments that occur through out the year. At the tournaments we seek volunteers to assist with things such as: organizing metals, selling food/beverages, selling 50/50 tickets, and overall organizing and taking down these events.

Sponsorship Volunteers- Sponsorship volunteers assist the organization in getting funding, resources or materials that support CDSA. Sponsors sometimes provide things such as jerseys, financial assistance to players in need, tournament tents or materials. CDSA is a non-profit organization.

Field Maintenance- For the outdoor season we have players on many fields throughout the town. Field maintenance volunteers assist with setting up the nets, ensuring that nets remain in place and in good repair and taking down the nets.
